From St Louis to Somewhere just outside of St Joseph MO.

A short day of driving ~ 266 miles.  We made several stops to pick up some parts for the vent in the privy.  Had to replace it when we reached Lewis and Clark State Park outside of Kansas City, MO.

For a simple job - I really worked up a sweat.  Had to finally venture out onto the top of the TC and work on the vent.  Finally got it done and slithered down the ladder to a cool beverage and some TLC from the best co-pilot a man could ask for!

Camping World in Columbia, MO helped us out with the parts we needed and sent us on our way. Jeffery at CW did a great job and we appreciate it!   While we were there we enjoyed the beautiful American Flag waving gently in the breeze.  Never forget all that it symbolizes.

The temps today started out at 75 in the morning when we woke up and quickly climbed to 93. Stayed there all day peaking, at 95 late afternoon.

As best I can figure, the Lewis and Clark Expedition was somewhere in the general vicinity at the same time of year.   I'm almost certain they did not have an air conditioned camper to crawl into at night.....but sometimes I wish I could have been there instead.

We are here at the Lewis and Clark State Park, settling in for the evening.  Enjoying our campsite under a mighty cottonwood tree, as the lazy summer afternoon comes to a close.

Big D - and little j - who just goes where she's towed......(get it?  Towed - told?) Ha ha ha - I just crack myself up.

One somber note - please remember that those you love can be gone at any minute.  It happened to a friend today.  My heart goes out to him and his family.

From Tam- it's the evening of the full moon and where else but Lewis and Clark State Park.  My love, with his passion for Lewis and Clark history.  So we researched the full moon in 1804 when Lewis and Clark were in our very same area on their expedition.  Turns out, their full moon was very close in date to the full moon we are basking in tonight.  Gives one a sense of connectedness as we travel some of the same paths those courageous explorers traveled so many years ago.  Beautiful now as it was then.

As Jim mentioned, we were reminded again today of how fragile life is.  May you bask in the love and comfort of loved ones tonight. Peace~
